Our next union meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 27 beginning at 8:00 p.m. As always we hope to see you there.

Work is picking up right now and we should have full employment through the spring. Monroe is go strong.The Sun Oil outage will finish upat the end of March and BP Oil will have a 3 to 4 week outage starting April 17, BP will also have a outage starting mid July for 3 to 4 weeks.

The dissolving of the NTL and consolidation of it members into the Local Lodges is progressing. We recently transfered 41 former NTL members into Local 85. Most of them are working fot tank companies such as Matrix, Holly Tank, Kennedy Tank,and other Tank companies. We expect to have an additional 40 or so members transfered to us this fall. All these members will be eligible to sign the appropiate out of work list according to the number of hours they have in field construction.

Local Lodge monthly union dues increase $1.30 per month effective January 1,2008. Be advised accordingly.

Detroit has been selected as the site to host the 2008 America at Work Union Industries Show at Cobo Center. The event, scheduled the week of May 16-18, showcases union-made automobiles,motorcycles, sporting goods,clothing, housewares,appliances,foods,glassware,computers,and furniture. The show moves from city to city every year so if you get the chance,go and check it out.
